The Coed and the Zombie Stoner (2014) Review: Unclothed and Undead

“Sex, drugs, and the walking dead”

Synopsis: When a nerdy sorority girl falls in love with a zombie, it’s only a matter of time before a zombie apocalypse is unleashed on campus. The sorority girl discovers that weed is the cure–now she must smoke out the entire school before it’s too late.

Calamity Brains:

The Asylum is fairly hit or miss as a production company, but the pairing of Glenn Miller and Scotty Mullen tends to produce better-than-average movies. The heady mix that made The Coed and the Zombie Stoner is something like: generic college movie + zombies + drugs + boobs. It’s just as stupid as it sounds, and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Blood and boobs are high up on the list of reasons why a lot of people like horror movies, and The Coed and the Zombie Stoner does not disappoint in those categories. Though much more comedy than horror, it’s heavy on gratuitous nudity and horror situations, including mad science, decapitation, and being eaten alive. This movie absolutely does not take itself seriously, and you shouldn’t try to either.

If you like poking fun at the genre and need something dumb with lots of ‘gina and gore, you won’t be disappointed. This pleasantly fun little flick is among our favorites for a drunken night of shenanigans.

Calamity Brains

The Codex Mortis Horror Hosts (Ludwig von Stroodle and Calamity Brains) are married and live in West Virginia. Pretty much everyone who sees their cabin agrees that it would be an ideal setting for a horror movie. Their pets include a black widow spider, a smart dog, and a stupid dog. When they aren’t watching horror movies, they can be found at whiskey festivals, Renaissance fairs, and board game nights.
